Interoperability

The objective of the Interoperability Work Item is to assist in the creation of products and services interoperable with a mainstream technology environment.

This is achieved by

• Agreeing on a common standards-based prioritized feature set and
• Facilitating interoperability tests of products under development in order to have interoperable products available as fast as possible.

This helps to access the market early with interoperable and competitive products and services.

The work is committed to open standards, which are published by independent organisations, such as ETSI, OMA, ISO/IEC, ITU, TIA, etc.

In 2010, the work item will be active on a case-by-case basis.

The work item is chaired by Martin Richartz, Vodafone.
